Teen Patti film was the start of  her career in 2010. She was also nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Luv Ka The End in 2011, she acted in this drama very brilliantly. In romantic drama Aashiqui, she gained appreciation for her performance. For earning fame she also participated in Commercials.

She was born in Mumbai. She belongs to a Cultural family. Her father belongs to a Punjabi family and her mother belongs to a Marathi family. She stated that she is completely a Marathi. Kapoor's family members, including her parents, Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor, her older brother, Siddhanth Kapoor and her two aunts Padmini Kolhapure and Tejaswini Kolhapure are actors in Hindi films. She did her schooling at Jamnabai Narsee School, then she enrolled in the American School of Bombay. While there she played soccer and handball competitively. Later, she went to Boston, but subsequently left to appear in her debut film after she was seen on Facebook by producer Ambika Hinduja who cast her for a role in Teen Patti.
