Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen was born in 19 November 1975 . She is an India
film actress, model and title holder of beauty pageant. She was crowned Miss
Universe in 1994 by outgoing holder Dayanara Torres of Puerto Rico At the 43rd
edition of the Miss Universe Pageant on May 20, 1994. She is the first Indian
to win the crown.
She went on to pursue Bollywood, after completing her reign.
Dastak was the Hindi film from which she started her carrier. She rose to
stardom with the Tamil musical Ratchagan Opposite Nagarijuan; later, she
attained commercial and critical recognition for her roles in SIRF TUM (1999)
and the comedy film BIWI NO.1 (9999). The later earned her the Filmfare Best
Supporting Actress Award.
She has also roled in successful film Ankhen (2002), Mein
Hoon Na (2004), her another successful movie Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005). She
received critical acclaim for her female-oriented roles in films such as
Filhaal (2002), Samay-When Time Strikes (2003), Chingaari (2005), Zindaggi
Rocks (2006), Aag (2007) and others.
She won many Awards like FILMFARE AWARD (2000) for the Best
Supporting Actress for Biwi No.1 (1999).
